Halal Style Black Pepper Beef

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg Sliced Beef tenderloin
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Chicken powder 2 tsp
  • 2-4 tbsp Crushed Black pepper 
  • 2-3 Red Chillies deseeded and sliced
  • Corn flour 1 tbsp
  • Egg 1/2 (beaten) optional
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2-3 tbsp margarine
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced.
  • Oyster sauce 2 tbsp
  • Dark soy sauce 1 tbsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Onion 1 (julienne)
  • Capsicum 1 (julienne)
  • Some curry leaves
  • Spring onion 1 (cut into 1 inch pieces)

Instructions:
  1. Marinate sliced beef with salt, 1 tsp chicken powder, black pepper, sesame oil, corn flour, 2 tbsp water, half beaten egg and keep for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over high heat and stir-fry the beef until the beef is browned on the outside but still pink inside. Dish out and set aside.
  3. In a wok add margarine, toss curry leaves, garlic paste, oyster sauce, ginger, soy sauce, sugar, crushed black pepper, 1 tsp chicken powder, onion, capsicum, sliced chilli and fried beef. 
  4. Garnish with spring onion and serve immediately with steamed rice.
